1970 Cutlass Supreme SX Convertible
(Above: July 2009 photo)
I purchased this car in October 2003. It's a Special Order Rally Red car with white bucket/console interior. Documented Y79 SX car (two 8x11 Linden plant build sheets) with the 320 h.p. L33 455 2 barrel and one of only 793 SX convertibles built in 1970. This car remained with its original owner until 2001 in Northern Virginia, then migrated to central Illinois for a brief time. I saw it in late 2002/early 2003 in www.traderonline.com but never called, but then found it via 442.com when it went up for sale again.
The car wears most of its original paint and is generally untouched. There are some external rusted areas behind each wheelwell, but the wheelhouses, floors, frame, doors, decklid, etc are all rust-free. The car got a set of refinished SSIs and Radial T/As as well as new springs and shocks, and the interior is mostly out of it at the present time for replacment. Other factory options include the Rocket Rally Pack, Sport Mirrors, AM/FM, and A/C. This car will be a beauty as more work is done on it over time.
