1972 Cutlass Supreme
SOLD January 2004
August 2003 with SSIs (above), November 2003 with SSIIIs (below)
I owned this car twice, from 1991-1999 then January '03 to January '04. This '72 Cutlass Supreme hardtop is loaded with performance options, and it has the original window sticker and build sheet to back them up. Viking blue, black vinyl top, black bench interior, #s matching 350 4 barrel with dual exhaust (M code), factory Rallye Pack, A/C (all there but not cold), HD suspension, HD cooling with rare overflow bottle, AM and 8 track (all there but not connected). This car came with hubcaps but now has correct 14x7JJ SSIIs on it.
I bought this car in July 1991 and it was all there, but a mess. I spent over $4000 on a body restoration, replacing both front fenders, passenger door and decklid with rust free southern parts. The front bumper was rechromed, NOS grilles were installed, all pitted chrome trim was replaced with NOS or Arizona pit-free parts, and the vinyl top was replaced. New dual exhaust and rear springs were installed, the front seat was recovered with a Year One kit, and I enjoyed the car for 7 years. The only significant change was the addition of a sport steering wheel. It was always garaged and never in weather during this time. When I bought a Stingray in 1998, my ex-wife made me sell the Cutlass. In July 1999, it went to a new owner in southern Virginia. However, the car was stored outside in a parking lot. As soon as I learned this, I bought it back, flew to VA and drove the car back in January. Being outdoors did take a toll on the car - there were some small blisters are surfacing in common areas, and the body has a few scrapes that it did not have before.
